likely a songwriter. You have this gift of
writing songs, and
now you want to
promote them. In your exploration for ways to promote, you landed here.
We believe you
are blessed, and have stumbled into a great opportunity! However,
in order to be a part of this organization, you
must join, and receive your own User Name, and Encryption Key for entrance.
We are a secure site, and the
safety, protection, and monitoring of this site is of necessity. But,
please read this page, so that you understand
fully how our system works, especially if you are going to bring your most
precious possession to our services.
Stone Tablet is an online Music Publishing Company,
designed to place original songs into the
hands of the music industry.
We are not
Napster, where you can buy downloads of finished material, but
rather we are the place the music industry comes to find original, unfinished,
unpublished works. We are the online promoter,
the licensing agent, and publisher. If you have done any research on the
music business, you probably
discovered that most publishers do not involve themselves directly promoting
songs in their catalogs. They simply
collect the royalties on songs, and pay the songwriters.
We do both. Promoting our songs through
marketing campaigns,
protection through copyright services, songwriting promotions, and royalty
collection, just like a regular publisher.
Stone Tablet will enter into a Publishing
Agreement with you, one song at a
time. In other words, you
choose what song,
or songs you would like us to publish, and then
you promote as many songs as you like, one
per each publishing contract. Here are some very important
facts YOU MUST KNOW, before getting started. You will find
this information as well, at the FAQ's of this site
1. ASCAP Songwriters, will work with our ASCAP Publishing Entity, Stone
Tablet Sounds.
2. BMI Songwriters will work through our BMI Publishing Entity, Stone
Tablet Studio Productions
3. SESAC Songwriters will work through our SESAC Publishing Entity, Stone
Tablet Music Works
4. All Songwriters MUST affiliate with either ASCAP or BMI. SESAC
only takes songwriters if you
have associations with an already existing songwriter with them, so your best
bet, is to just affiliate with
either ASCAP, or BMI as a Songwriter.
5. If you are going to use a song, that is already registered with either
ASCAP, BMI, or SESAC, you will
have to re-assign a portion of your publishing to us, before we can promote you.
When you click the "Get Started" link, you will be asked to sign a Publishing
Agreement, which is also known as a Work Registration,
or a Title Registration form. In that agreement, Stone Tablet will
receive 25% of the publishing portion of your song. If your song
has already been assigned to another publishing company, you will have to
fill out a new work registration form, and title your song
differently than the title you assign to another publisher. If you are
your own publisher, you can reassign percentages of the work
That way, there will be no
discrepancies as to who the publisher of your work is. If your song has
already been assigned to another publisher, you cannot assign
your song to more than one publisher, IF you have given the entire publishing
rights to another publisher. In other words, if your song
has been assigned fully, or 100% based on BMI, or 50% based on ASCAP, then you
will have to either revise your publishing interest, by
changing the publishing interest of your songs, or changing the title of the
song, and version you use with us.
This will prevent two publishers in conflict over the same song. If you
are your own publishing company, then you can reassign
a portion of your publishing to us. We will not begin promoting your work
until this is revised.
As your Publisher, we will promote the song you license with us right here
through our Song Vault. Along with that, we do
promote songs to our contacts in the music industry, who request we search for
them. In those instances, if your song, or songs
meets the criteria we need, then we will plug your songs this way as well.
STEPS TO TAKE FOR SONG SUBMISSION
For any songs you may want to submit, gather the following material together:
a) Name of Song
b) Length of Song
c) Genre of Song
d) Orientation, or sex (you can say male, female, or both)
e) Lyrics of Song, typed on uploadable Word Format
f) Music of Song, available in uploadable format (MP3, CD,DVD)
g) And 3-5 keywords that describe your song (*Note: the Song Search asks the
client for up to
5 words describing the type song they want. Several mandatory key inputs will be
asked, which are
length of song, genre, and sex, meaning male, female, or both)
